You find yourself standing at the bottom of a tall staircase that has led down to a subway station. The circular layout of the underground building is centered around an impressively thick pillar. All around the circle, several shorter staircases lead down to train platforms. Even though you are indoors, a misty fog spreads through the building, making the floor just a little slick, and partially obscuring your vision. Hazard cones and "Caution: Wet Floor" signs are placed every so often around the circle, to spread awareness of the danger.
An announcement comes over the speakers. The announcement speaks in Ingo's voice:
Attention, all passengers! Gear Station is currently undergoing renovations. Please proceed with caution. Unfortunately, our ticket machines are currently out of order. One of our Depot Agents is standing by to provide you with guidance and assistance. Do not hesitate to speak with him! We are working around the clock to serve you to the best of our ability, according to the standards our passengers expect. Thank you very much for your understanding. I hope you will ride with us again!
Sure enough, a station attendant is standing next to one of the supposedly out-of-order ticket machines (though the screen is lit up, like you could still interact with it). He has a cart with him that is carrying several Pokeballs, and he notices you, waving you down. "'Scuse me!"
There is also a subway map posted on the wall nearby.
Emmet smiles fondly, though that smile fades somewhat as he catches sight of the mist. Slowly. he steps over to the ticket machine where the attendant is. ]
is it a little ill advised to go alone when she has only lost battles so far? maybe. is that going to stop her from hopping onto a line by herself when they split, though? absolutely not. lucretia will throw hands with a pokemon herself if she must.
Well, he's going to approach the man first and foremost, since he's being flagged down. And he's also checking his belt for his Pokeballs, after the Feather Incident.]
[ Listen that really doesn't look out of order at all... he's staring at the ticket machine, arms crossed, but he will not argue someone waving him down. What else is new, really. He's rude though and doesn't look at the attendant. ]
lucretia returns to the station with frillish (blue) in tow and a pink-purple tablet in hand, pausing there; it seems best to regroup, after all, and make sure the others are all right if they've returned.]
Emmet? Hilda? Are you two here?
[or anyone who is Not emmet or hilda, because spacetime works in mysterious ways.]
[ HE IS BACK, back again. Once he returns to Gear Station, Emmet immediately approaches the depot agent, pokeballs for Drilbur, Ferroseed, Tynamo, and Joltik in hand. ]
She's trying not to feel overwhelmed by the newness of things like "subways" and such. But she recognizes that voice on the announcement at Ingo's at least, her ears perking up slightly.
Well, at least she's not by herself... She looks to Arthur and nods. ]
[He's finally back baby! Before anything else, he's going to head down to the Progressive Line to see if dealing with the Regressive Line had any effect on the state of the subway.
Anyone back on the platform at this time can also run into him!]
You can feel the train traveling in a large circle. When it lets out again, you're not convinced you're very far from where you started—but you're not in Gear Station anymore. In front of you is a colorful amusement park, with a roller coaster and a Ferris wheel. Even through the fog, as thick as ever, it's hard to miss dramatic landmarks like that so close to you.
There is still a train platform to step off onto, complete with another glitchy ticket machine. When you do step off, an announcement comes over the station speakers, again in Ingo's voice.
Missing Pokemon report! Several Pokemon have gone missing. Please see the notice posted on the ticket machine for details. We will do our best to reward anyone who is able to help us resolve this issue! Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
You step off the train onto the platform. You're inside of a cave thrumming with energy. There is a crackling electromagnetic field in here, so powerful that large, glittering rocks hover suspended in midair. Unfortunately, the fog is thick in here, too.
There is another strangely glitchy ticket machine on the platform. A station announcement comes on in Ingo's voice.
Apologies, passengers... This stop is clearly not in the direction indicated by our Subway Map. Our routes are experiencing some changes due to the circumstances. I hope you enjoy your stay in Chargestone Cave nevertheless. Be cautious, as you are in the territory of wild Pokemon!
For now, there's only one path forward from the train platform.
When you step off the train onto the platform, you see a familiar graveyard—and then hear the bells of the Clocktower strike. The announcement you hear is not Ingo, but the Warden.
"Inmates. It is time for your next task. One that is appropriate for the place in which you find yourself. It should not be difficult or painful. So do not disappoint me."
A Sphinx-colored door leads to a nondescript room, and you cannot fight the compulsion to enter it. There are four boxes on a table, and four different cards, with instructions posted on the wall. Looks like you'll be stuck playing a game instead of exploring.
The train travels for a bit with nothing in particular happening. But suddenly, in the middle of the darkened tunnel, the train pulls to a stop. There is a long pause. And then an announcement comes over the speakers, again in Ingo's voice.
Attention, all passengers. I am sure you are wondering why we have made an unscheduled stop. I am also wondering this. Here, we pride ourselves on an excellent standard of service. And we do not even ask for very much in return. The very least I deserve is a train that works properly. Is it wrong to want that? Don't you think I deserve that?!
The lights in the train car all go out for a moment. When they flicker back on, someone is standing there in front of you. With yellow eyes and a tattered uniform, it's Ingo's Shadow.
"...How unsightly. This is what happens when you build up too many hopes for yourself. You start feeling entitled to everything."
[ I will again point out that Lear has never been on a train in his life probably, and thus he thinks maybe this is standard for trains. Maybe unscheduled stops are just how life goes for these people. Sucks to be them--
Oh wait, no, Ingo says this isn't normal.
Wait. ]
Ah--there you are. We've come to assist in the whole memory thing, and.
[ ... Glances at Munna... pauses... nobody else is here... ]
The old-fashioned train pulls up to a platform at the base of a village built on the slope of a mountain, in the midst of a blizzard. The only thing on the platform is another glitchy ticket machine. There are no announcements that greet you. Only the wind, snow, and several tents you will need to scale a snowy slope to access. Or maybe you'll head in the opposite direction, across a freezing river towards the vast snowy expanse? It looks like that would be pretty dangerous...
-well, it looks like our options are civilization or nothing. I don't think we're quite equipped to go wandering off.
[she's wrapping her arms around herself, a little, braced against that wind-- but she'll give the ticket machine a quick check while they're here, to see if it says anything potentially helpful.]
The train pulls up to a platform that is directly within the gates to a walled-off village. As in, the train just pulled up to block the entrance to the whole village. Hopefully nobody needed to get out of there. There's another ticket machine on the platform, if you wanted one.
It's an old-fashioned Far Eastern style village, as you might expect. You can see the high peak of Mount Coronet in the distance—though there is no rift above it. There are people out and about, browsing shops, sweeping, setting out their laundry. But they all stop and turn when a scruffy man runs out of the largest, most impressive building on the street. He looks this way and that before dashing towards the train platform.
You remember... very little. You know your own name—that much makes sense to you. You remember standing somewhere very cold... but the memory fades out. Everything else is gone.
(Perhaps, from time to time while in this palace, you will think you see a glimpse of other memories. People you knew. Things you did. A prison, and a team...? But it falls out of your mind as easily as it comes. You never grasp anything more solid than those vague feelings. It is nothing but déjà vu.)
Right now, you are waking up underneath a blanket, on the bottom bunk of a bunkbed. It's less cold here, insulated in a thick, large, permanent tentlike structure. As you come awake, a girl kneeling by your bedside startles out of her daze and turns to attend to you. There is some kind of creature resting next to her.
"Are you all right?! You were unconscious in the snow... Warden Ingo and the noble Sneasler brought you here. I thank the Almighty Sinnoh that you were left unharmed until he found you..."
The name Ingo is just a little bit familiar. But you can't fit it into any context in your mind. It is frustratingly meaningless.
You pull up to a platform, but you can see that the tracks continue on to a large, tranquil train yard. Some benches and another copy of the Subway Map greet you on the small platform. Some stairs lead to a bridge, which leads over the tracks to the main part of the town—small as it is. A Depot Agent is on the bridge, looking out over the train yard.
An announcement plays in Ingo's voice.
Attention, all passengers. Proper maintenance requires some time to pause and reflect. Please relax while we ensure our trains run smoothly. Service will resume shortly.
At long last, you arrive at a camp high up on the mountainside, near some very old ruins. There's a path that continues up, onto the snowy peak. But since there's only a little bit left to go, and it won't require any more sheer cliff-climbing, you get a chance to stretch your legs after the journey. The summit is close...
Gear Station [START]
You find yourself standing at the bottom of a tall staircase that has led down to a subway station. The circular layout of the underground building is centered around an impressively thick pillar. All around the circle, several shorter staircases lead down to train platforms. "...How unsightly. This is what happens when you build up too many hopes for yourself. You start feeling entitled to everything."

Oh wait, no, Ingo says this isn't normal.
Wait. ]
Ah--there you are. We've come to assist in the whole memory thing, and.
[ ... Glances at Munna... pauses... nobody else is here... ]
--Yes, yes, you are part of the "we".
[ ANYWAY. Back to Ingo. ]
Regardless, what are you even talking about?

Pearl Settlement
The old-fashioned train pulls up to a platform at the base of a village built on the slope of a mountain, in the midst of a blizzard. The only thing on the platform is another glitchy ticket machine. There are no announcements that greet you. Only the wind, snow, and several tents you will need to scale a snowy slope to access. Or maybe you'll head in the opposite direction, across a freezing river towards the vast snowy expanse? It looks like that would be pretty dangerous...

[she's wrapping her arms around herself, a little, braced against that wind-- but she'll give the ticket machine a quick check while they're here, to see if it says anything potentially helpful.]

Jubilife Village
"DON'T PANIC!!" he says, mildly panicking.

Pearl Settlement [START]
Re: Pearl Settlement [START]
[Once he rouses, Vicious sits up abruptly and hits his head on the bunk bed with a heavy thunk. He rubs the spot as he looks around.]
...Where... Who...?
[None of this seems right...]

Anville Town...?
You pull up to a platform, but you can see that the tracks continue on to a large, tranquil train yard. Some benches and another copy of the Subway Map greet you on the small platform. Some stairs lead to a bridge, which leads over the tracks to the main part of the town—small as it is. A Depot Agent is on the bridge, looking out over the train yard.
An announcement plays in Ingo's voice.
Attention, all passengers. Proper maintenance requires some time to pause and reflect. Please relax while we ensure our trains run smoothly. Service will resume shortly.

[It's so quiet here compared to the Battle Subway. Saturn looks around, making his way slowly to the bridge and to the worker standing on it.]
Excuse me. I hope I'm not interrupting.

Mount Coronet
At long last, you arrive at a camp high up on the mountainside, near some very old ruins. There's a path that continues up, onto the snowy peak. But since there's only a little bit left to go, and it won't require any more sheer cliff-climbing, you get a chance to stretch your legs after the journey. The summit is close...
