Litten!

[Vicious takes a half step forward in alarm. He kind of wants to just take out the Abomasnow himself, but he doesn't remember how to do that and gets the feeling it's a bad idea.

He kicks a chunk of ice at the Abomasnow anyway.]

—He got a lucky hit! You can still get 'im!!

[derailer]

The other Pokemon clinging onto you press closer against you, trying to keep you further away from the action. They can tell, too, that Litten still has fight left in him. Litten sways to his feet and uses another Flamethrower, more vibrant than before, and taking Abomasnow out completely. It collapses with a thud onto the snow and ice.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious huffs and tightens his grip on Snorunt and Sneasel, stepping back slightly.

For the few seconds until Litten wins. Then he leaps forward again more enthusiastically.]

Yeah!! That's the stuff!

[derailer]

Litten meows triumphantly, turning around to celebrate with you and the rest of your new crew. The Shadow doesn't seem to care much, continuing on down the path.

[stirtheblood]

Tch, a little appreciation wouldn't hurt... This one's completely out, huh? Well, it ain't as cute anyway. C'mon, Litten.

[Vicious bends down for Litten to jump back on top of his head and then turns to follow the Shadow.]

Ya think they came this way, then?

[derailer]

"An addiction to appreciation will hurt later."

Litten makes a low mrrt, annoyed at the Shadow again. The Shadow gestures back where they came from.

"Any materials to be collected were already collected down this path. Only now are they beginning to appear again."

And also, Snovers who are aggravated at their alpha being taken out are appearing. There are two of them acting hostile!

[stirtheblood]

"Addiction"?

[Vicious vaguely recalls learning what that word means? And it feels wrong for this context.]

...Don't have to be dependin' on something for it to be nice, y'know.

[But okay there are more enemies now]

Ya up for more, Litten? Looks like these guys wanna play too.

[derailer]

Litten may be hurt now, but these aren't alphas, so he still feels confident. He's more ginger about it as he jumps down this time.

The roll is 2d6+3 again, but there are two of them! You will have to roll successfully for both.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious watches Litten more carefully this time, too, to see if he's showing any signs of difficulty. Though he still gives a wild grin and yells encouragement:]

Yeah, you got it. Those little ones are nothin'!

[I rolled...... a 10 and a 14. Litten strong]

[derailer]

LITTEN STRONG. And he's gained another level! Who cares if you take damage when you have levels!! The Snovers surrender instantly when exposed to the heat of Litten's flames. Vicious and Litten are even more powerful than their former alpha... You could recruit them, even though you are running out of places to put Pokemon.

[stirtheblood]

[He is running out of places to put Pokemon... He turns to the Shadow]

Hey, how do those ball things work again?

[derailer]

"In this instance, you would simply throw them at the Pokemon and they will shrink to fit inside." He holds one out to you.

[stirtheblood]

[He has to put down the non-alpha Sneasel to have a free hand to take it. He does not throw it immediately, instead tossing it up in the air a few times as he turns back to the Snovers]

You guys can come along too, if ya want, but it's gettin' crowded, so you'd have to either walk or go in a ball for now. Whaddaya say?

[derailer]

They look at each other, and then look back at you, nodding. You seem cool and strong!

[stirtheblood]

[Yeah!! He's cool and strong!!]

Awright then! Here we go!

[He tosses the Pokeball at one of them.]

[derailer]

Snover shrinks to go in the old-fashioned Pokeball, which clanks shut and shakes briefly. When successful, a little firework goes off from the Pokeball. Congratulations!

The Shadow will offer another Pokeball.

[stirtheblood]

—Ha! That's somethin'.

[Vicious takes the second Pokeball and tosses it at the other Snover. Once it's successfully contained, he sets Snorunt down too so he can retrieve both of the balls.]

Anyone else rather take a rest in a ball for a bit?

[He'll leave it up to Snorunt and the Sneasels' preference.]

[derailer]

Snorunt and the smaller Sneasel seem interested in the concept, though the alpha Sneasel is a little too proud to volunteer. The Shadow starts already digging for more balls to hand to you.

While you are doing all of this, you start hearing a noise a short ways away.

[stirtheblood]

[Sneasel backpack is a little too good to want to give up anyway. Vicious takes more balls for the other two, pausing to glance in the direction of the noise.]

What's that...?

[derailer]

The Shadow glances in that direction, further down the path. "Human voices," he says.

[stirtheblood]

Your missin' people?

[Vicious gets the other two Pokemon into their balls and then picks Litten up to put him back on his head.]

[derailer]

"Most likely." So he will continue on his way there. He keeps walking, pausing at a certain point and looking down, apparently at the ground.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious follows, stopping short abruptly behind the Shadow when he pauses, peering over his shoulder from too close to see what he's looking at.]

[derailer]

The Shadow stays very still, so as to avoid acknowledging that Vicious is too close.

The ground opens up into a large hole, which leads down to an icy cavern. There are five or so people down in the cavern, looking pained and desperate—if they are conscious at all.

"Help...! We're saved!"

[stirtheblood]

Tch... They fell down there, huh? Guess they weren't attacked by somethin' at all.
