[ Emmet hops out of the basket, stretching carefully, then gives Sneasler a wave. ]

[ And with that, he sucks in a bit of air before continuing on his way up. ]

She waves a claw, seeing you off.

It's your average snowy mountain path, though for some reason it seems to be a congregating place for Electric-type Pokemon. You can maneuver your way past Luxray and Electabuzz with some effort, if you choose to. But the hulking alpha Electivire will be harder to sneak past, even if you try.

[ He carefully sneaks past the first two, but pauses when he sees the Electivire.

Well, at least one of his Pokemon has been raring to give something a beating. ]

Go, Mamoswine!

[ that is an 11, apparently. also she's ground, so +1. ]

Electivire may be an alpha, but has he been up against Miss Piggy who was already in a bad mood?? No. He hasn't been. And he basically only has electric moves anyway. He is easily destroyed by Mamoswine even with the -1 from alphas I forgot to mention before you rolled. You can catch it if you want!

[ MISS PIGGY CANNOT BE STOPPED BY ALPHAS!!

Emmet does throw a pokeball before she can faint it though. ]

Hooray. You have an Electivire! Now, surely, it should be a brief walk to the cave up ahead...

Except the clouds start swirling overhead, and the sky seems to burst open into an electrified bubble. The air smells crisp in a way that is different from the normal mountain air. A space-time distortion is forming!

[likewinning]

[ Mamoswine whuffs, nodding over her shoulder. Get on, loser.

Emmet climbs onto her back quickly but pauses, glancing around. ]

Wait!

[ If the quest marker is in the distortion itself, they're staying. But if it's beyond the distortion, they're going to haul ass to it. ]

[derailer]

It's hard to tell right now—the marker leads into the cave, and the bubble forming in the air extends into the cave as well.

Go, Mamoswine! Go!

[ She bellows and starts making a break for it. ]

[derailer]

Mamoswine hurries through the strange bubble and into the cave. Inside of the cave is mostly empty, except for some carvings on the wall that represent legendary Pokemon. Until—three Pokemon appear suddenly with a crackle of lightning, bursting into existence. It's a Sylveon, Dusknoir, and a Rampardos, all startled and immediately aggressive.

The quest marker continues through the cave, to the exit on the other side, outside of this bubble.

[ Emmet grits his teeth, then reaches in and tosses out two balls — Eelektross and Archeops — before patting at Mamoswine. ]

Use Earthquake! Archeops, do the same! Eelektross, use Crunch on Dusknoir!

[ Eelektross rolls a 7 (+1 for super effective against Dusknoir). Archeops rolls an 8 and Mamoswine rolls an 11 (+1 for STAB).

and it's earthquake so like do whatever. you know. Archeops and Eelektross are floating above it nbd. ]

The earthquakes are super-effective against Rampardos at least, so it collapses near-instantly. Sylveon is able to tank them, and Dusknoir manages to pull off a Shadow Sneak on Eelektross before he is crunched to finish the job. Sylveon is surely doomed next turn, but he manages to Play Rough with Archeops before he goes! Take that!

If you want to catch one I'll let you pick whichever of the three to catch. Like you need them anyway.

[ Emmet recalls both Archeops and Eelektross and then tosses a ball at Sylveon. Coverage is good at this point, because who knows what's at the end of this quest marker. He gives Mamoswine a pat at that.

good miss piggy who is apparently stealing the good rolls from eelektross.

When they're done with that, Mamoswine is going to attempt to bust through, heading towards that marker. ]

You now have a Sylveon!

As you emerge from the cave, you can see some broken pillars up at the very top of the mountain, just a little bit further up from where you are. A merchant has set up shop right outside of the cave; it is Volo.

"Greetings!"

[ Emmet hops off Mamoswine, giving him a curious look. Hilda had a crush on this guy, right? Clearly, something must be wrong with him. ]

I am Emmet. I need to get to the top.

"Of course," he says, especially turning his smile over towards Hilda, noticing her reaction. "I was just thinking—you don't know what you're about to go up against, right? And you just journeyed all the way here. So in case you needed any items to stock up for your mission, my services are available!"

Nope. I am good. But you can tell Hilda things if you want.

"Hey there, Hilda! Could I interest you in some potions?"

"It's only ₽200 for a potion! ₽400 for a Super Potion, or ₽800 for a Hyper Potion..."

[ Welp, sorry Archeops and Eelektross.

Emmet shrugs and continues up towards the top of the mountain. ]

At the peak of Mount Coronet, you appear at the ruins of a once-grand temple. Now having been recently destroyed, the broken pillars jut like spears into the sky. Rubble strewn across the ground resembles broken fragments of statues of Pokemon. But there is one single statue that has been miraculously spared—or is it rebuilt? It is an elegant stone statue of a Sneasler.

Instinctively, you realize... if you play an Azure Flute in this place, then your journey will enter the final stage. There will be no turning back after that.
