At long last, you arrive at a camp high up on the mountainside, near some very old ruins. There's a path that continues up, onto the snowy peak. But since there's only a little bit left to go, and it won't require any more sheer cliff-climbing, you get a chance to stretch your legs after the journey. The summit is close...

[ Emmet hops out of the basket, stretching carefully, then gives Sneasler a wave. ]

Thank you verrrry much!

[ And with that, he sucks in a bit of air before continuing on his way up. ]

She waves a claw, seeing you off.

It's your average snowy mountain path, though for some reason it seems to be a congregating place for Electric-type Pokemon. You can maneuver your way past Luxray and Electabuzz with some effort, if you choose to. But the hulking alpha Electivire will be harder to sneak past, even if you try.

[likewinning]

[ He carefully sneaks past the first two, but pauses when he sees the Electivire.

Well, at least one of his Pokemon has been raring to give something a beating. ]

Go, Mamoswine!

[ that is an 11, apparently. also she's ground, so +1. ]

Electivire may be an alpha, but has he been up against Miss Piggy who was already in a bad mood?? No. He hasn't been. And he basically only has electric moves anyway. He is easily destroyed by Mamoswine even with the -1 from alphas I forgot to mention before you rolled. You can catch it if you want!

[likewinning]

[ MISS PIGGY CANNOT BE STOPPED BY ALPHAS!!

Emmet does throw a pokeball before she can faint it though. ]

Hooray. You have an Electivire! Now, surely, it should be a brief walk to the cave up ahead...

Except the clouds start swirling overhead, and the sky seems to burst open into an electrified bubble. The air smells crisp in a way that is different from the normal mountain air. A space-time distortion is forming!

[Basket-riding . . . that was so weird. But boy is he grateful for it. Saturn gives Sneasler a friendly nod of thanks once he's let out, waving, and then it's up he goes. The summit is close! He's done this before!]

Sneasler waves casually back. Today is the day she decides to formally give up on any grudge against Saturn, since she mostly forgot what that was about anyway.

Electivire . . . ugh. He'd better hold back Sharpedo this time. And Crobat. Again. Fuckin Electric!

Maybe he can get the jump on it with Toxicroak, though. Instead of sneaking past, he's going to try throwing her Pokeball right at the Electivire to initiate a battle before it can react first. Toxicroak loves fighting dirty!

[derailer]

Alpha Pokemon give you a -1 modifier, but the element of surprise gives you a +1, canceling it out. Sneaky! You can safely roll 2d6+1. Electivire whirls around to face Toxicroak, shocked by the audacity.

[Suck it, Electivire! That said, I rolled a 7, so this isn't going to be an easy win on Toxicroak's part.]

Toxicroak, Poison Jab!

[derailer]

Electivire roars, powerful enough to knock you off your feet. But Toxicroak stays standing, poisoning the alpha. Thunderbolt gives her a nasty shock, but it's not enough to take her down. Her continued assault, along with the poison, will be able to defeat him! Though he's taken out by the poison before there's any chance of catching him.

[ well. it was an awkward ride, but it could've been worse. Lear clambers out, and then hits the snow face first.

And stands and spits it out, rubbing at his face. Blegh. ]

Er... well done. Thank you for your assistance.

She lets out what might be a feline laugh, chattery. Sneasler has acknowledged your deference to her. She points one of her claws up the path that ascends the final heights of the mountain, indicating where to go.

It seems like there are going to be wild Pokemon along the way. A Luxray is already leering at you, though he's too far from the camp to make any moves.

[hijinked]

[ ....... squints suspiciously at that Luxray.

Alright.

This is fine. He's a Pokemon trainer, he'll go for the battle! Aggressively! ]

Donphan--quickly, let's take care of this before we freeze!

[ With a 7! ]

[derailer]

Luxray growls at your approach. He's at a disadvantage here, but he leaps forward with a Crunch, sinking his teeth into Donphan's flesh.

There was basically no chance he was actually going to win, though. He will be taken out once Donphan retaliates with a Ground-type move.

You can see there are quite a few Electric-type Pokemon here. You see a couple of Electabuzz, and an alpha Electivire prowling around in the snow.

[ ... thaaaat Electivire looks like very bad news.

Is there a way to sneak around it? Even Lear knows when something is more trouble than it's probably worth. ]

It's a relatively narrow valley, and he's hulking and territorial. You probably won't be able to sneak past him. But you can try running very fast. Or perhaps even remain out of his reach, if you ask Sneasler to help you again.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious climbs out of the basket and puts Litten back on his head before checking that the Sneasels made it up okay]

Guess it's just a little more up?

[derailer]

Everyone made it through the journey fine! Sneasler nods, gesturing up to a snowy path that has some Electric-type Pokemon prowling, a Luxray leering down at you as you stand near the camp. At least the path is not quite as snowy as where you just came from.

[He lets the Snovers and Snorunt out of their balls as well. And slightly regrets putting Litten on his head, since it is still pretty cold.

He addresses Sneasler:]

You not comin' with? Bet it'll be interestin'.

[derailer]

She tilts her head, and then steps forward. If you're inviting her along, she sees no reason not to join you, even if she will abstain from the fights.

[stirtheblood]

Awright, then let's go!

[It's a party!! heading up the path]

The Luxray growls as you approach, aggressive.
