It's a relatively narrow valley, and he's hulking and territorial. You probably won't be able to sneak past him. But you can try running very fast. Or perhaps even remain out of his reach, if you ask Sneasler to help you again.
You try to run past, but Electivire notices you and roars, sending out a shockwave that knocks you off of your feet. He's barreling towards you! Perhaps you could still scramble to your feet if you act fast.
The Electivire swipes at you—it's shocking and a fairly heavy impact, but... it propels you forward and not down. After that, with that damage taken, you are able to outrun him.
Thank goodness the path to the cave path seems mostly clear after that. There shouldn't be too much more trouble—
Oops, that was a lie. The clouds start swirling overhead, and the sky seems to burst open into an electrified bubble. The air smells crisp in a way that is different from the normal mountain air. A space-time distortion is forming!
This large atmospheric bubble appears to extend into the cave that is your destination. As you linger in confusion, objects start zapping into existence on the ground... and then, three Pokemon also zap in to block your way! It's a Sylveon, Dusknoir, and a Rampardos, all startled and immediately aggressive.

There was basically no chance he was actually going to win, though. He will be taken out once Donphan retaliates with a Ground-type move.
You can see there are quite a few Electric-type Pokemon here. You see a couple of Electabuzz, and an alpha Electivire prowling around in the snow.

Is there a way to sneak around it? Even Lear knows when something is more trouble than it's probably worth. ]

No. No he's not.
He will, however, try running very fast. The last thing he wants to do is freeze out here trying to battle all of these wild Pokemon, thank you. ]

HE'S NOT USED TO POKEMON BEING THIS SCARY
He may or may not be fast enough, but at this point it's fight or flight response, so he's scrambling to his feet to try to get outta there. ]

Yeah he has no idea what to expect, but he can tell that it's bad. Time to brace himself, head whipping up at that. ]
