You step off the train onto the platform. You're inside of a cave thrumming with energy. There is a crackling electromagnetic field in here, so powerful that large, glittering rocks hover suspended in midair. Unfortunately, the fog is thick in here, too.
There is another strangely glitchy ticket machine on the platform. A station announcement comes on in Ingo's voice.
Apologies, passengers... This stop is clearly not in the direction indicated by our Subway Map. Our routes are experiencing some changes due to the circumstances. I hope you enjoy your stay in Chargestone Cave nevertheless. Be cautious, as you are in the territory of wild Pokemon!
For now, there's only one path forward from the train platform.
You certainly have the hometown advantage both here and in Nimbasa City, navigating despite the fog. This is the twin cheat code.
When a hovering rock blocks your path, Tinkaton looks up at it, mystified. But for you, Emmet, you probably don't even need to see the larger rock to the left through the fog in order to know that it's there. The layout of the cave seems to be preserved with relative precision in comparison to how few memories Ingo has. Perhaps the memories really are just under the surface?
Tinkaton doesn't question the order, immediately slamming the rock in the direction she is pointed towards.
It really didn't need that much force. These rocks only need one good push to get caught in the magnetic pull. The rocks crack a little with the amount of force Tinkaton put into it. But the path is clear!
Now that that rock is out of the way, you can move forward to a junction where you can either turn left, or keep going straight.
You proceed through a narrow passage—and feel a shaking from under the ground, the earth disturbed by the movement, faintly visible through the fog. Once again, Tinkaton is on the alert.
Ehhhhh, it's like hanging out in Kintoki's room or something...
[ She pauses to listen to the announcement, then shrugs, starting to follow the path forward. It's been years since she's played a game, but she does remember being used to lots of random encounters in caves.
To Dedenne, then: ] I guess this is where I'll have to count on you, huh? What do you think?
Dedenne squeaks with enthusiastic determination. We're gonna destroy this cave! ...Hopefully!!
You move forward, but the one path is blocked by a large blue rock hovering in midair from the strange energy. To the left you can see another flash of blue, but that's about all you can discern.
When she gets to the rock, she pauses, looking around for a stick or something to grab. She wants to poke the rock with the stick, just to see if it's the sort of thing that's solidly set in place, or just floating the way it appears to be. ]
I wonder if there's a trick to it... this is the kind of thing that'd be a puzzle in a game, right?
It's mostly rocks of various sizes in here. If you poke the big blue hovering rock with a smaller rock, it wobbles in midair. It looks like it could be moved somewhere, if you could get it out of its current magnetic pull and into a different one.
[ She pokes harder at the rock for a moment, considering how much of a swinging trajectory she can get. Could she weasel her way under it while it swings like a pendulum?
...
Probably not a great idea. Time to see what that blue flash to the left was, just in case it's a clue of some sort. ]
[ She WAS just nudging it forward on the path, just to test, but when she sees that the other rock is the same kind of thing, she nudges it to the left. What's going to happen? She has no idea. ]
Munna nods, with a noise of determination! You don't get lost either, Lear!!
You walk along the path for a little while. Before you run into any Pokemon, you run into a strange floating rock that is blocking your path. To the left you see a glimpse of something else in the same electrified blue color as the floating rock.
You continue down the path! ...But is the ground rumbling underneath you? Not like an earthquake. Localized in a very specific spot, but moving around.
You at least move fast enough to outpace the Drilbur who pops out of the ground; he doesn't catch you with his claws—but you can tell he was trying to!

Be careful, Tinkaton. Follow the rules! Safe driving. Follow the schedule! Everybody smile.
[ He points! And they're off!
and yes he's watching for shadows. ]

Go ahead, Tinkaton. Hit it with all you've got.
[ send that flying over, as you do. ]

It's been a hot minute since he's gotten to deal with any wild Pokemon at all, since Pasio doesn't have them.

You did it! You solved the puzzle! Munna cheers extra hard for you, having sensed how you were nervous about puzzles.
As you move forward, you can either turn left (towards where the other rock was) or keep going straight.
