The old-fashioned train pulls up to a platform at the base of a village built on the slope of a mountain, in the midst of a blizzard. The only thing on the platform is another glitchy ticket machine. There are no announcements that greet you. Only the wind, snow, and several tents you will need to scale a snowy slope to access. Or maybe you'll head in the opposite direction, across a freezing river towards the vast snowy expanse? It looks like that would be pretty dangerous...
-well, it looks like our options are civilization or nothing. I don't think we're quite equipped to go wandering off.
[she's wrapping her arms around herself, a little, braced against that wind-- but she'll give the ticket machine a quick check while they're here, to see if it says anything potentially helpful.]
The ticket machine has a touch screen that displays a list of selectable items, with a label at the top: Prison Shop. Almost all of the items and prices are glitchy and illegible. But there is one option that is clear, and faintly glowing, looking as if it is superimposed over the glitchy screen. It reads:
Civilization it is, with the hopes we find some wild friends along the way! Sigilyph, can you scout ahead and see if there's anything we need to be keeping an eye out for?
[ Might as well make use of a Flying type. Forewarned is forearmed, after all. ]
Sigilyph bobs her head in assent, and then starts flapping up the slope. It's easy enough to climb, you can tell; it's a settlement, and the path is well-traveled—but it's very icy right now, and still inevitably dangerous in the blizzard.
Someone from inside one of the tents hears the sounds of a Pokemon's wingbeats and peeks out, and then lets out a louder cry when she sees that it's a strange Pokemon she's never seen before. She bursts out of the tent, Glaceon by her side. It's Irida, who you saw in the train photos. (She's still dressed very skimpily, even in the blizzard.)
"Stay back! Glaceon, go—!"
Unless you recall Glaceon now, you're going to be stuck in a Pokemon battle! Irida doesn't notice any people yet, only Sigilyph.
Inside the tent are a few people, but one of them is Irida, who has the quest marker above her head. She is shocked to see anyone enter, and even more when she gets a look at your face.
[Aaggghh Lake Acuity! He had chosen Lake Valor with the privilege of his high rank for a reason! So cold . . . and he doesn't specialize in warm-blooded Pokemon, Crobat aside, and she's weak to Ice, so he's not going to put her through walking with him . . .
No one to cuddle up to! He has to just press up the slope to that tent, shivering all the way.]
[MAYBE HE WILL! INGO! MAYBE HE'LL GO VISIT MELLI!!!
It didn't even occur to him that this might happen if he were seen walking around the Pearl Clan . . . of course it is. He stops in about as much surprise, holding up his hand, with the flute in it.]
No—no, but I'm a relation of hers. . . . I've come to bring you this.
Something like that, yes . . . thank you. It isn't something I can do without your help.
[Does this girl get her clothes from Da Vinci or what? What's with the bare skin in a blizzard without a care in the world? But he follows, of course.]
[ ... why is it so cold. Ughhhh... Lear trudges his way through the snow, following the quest marker with a scowl on his face and his arms wrapped around himself.
Trudge... trudge... trudge........
To the tent! If the door is open, he's poking his head right in, and if it's not he knocks impatiently, still shivering. ]
But, as she takes it in her hands to inspect it, she seems to sense something. She touches a hand to her chest, bowing her head as if listening, but you can't hear anything.
"Oh—I see. The next part of your journey... You'll need to scale Mount Coronet. The Lady Sneasler should be able to help you with that."
She stands, and gives you back the Azure Flute before heading outside.

[scouting sigilyph, go!
except it seems to startle someone, and while they did come here to battle-- that one is definitely Not one of the wild pokemon they're here for.]
It's all right, it won't harm you!
[she calls up the slope, projecting her voice over the wind as well as she can.]

She stands up and walks outside.

She doesn't recognize it. But after staring at it for a moment, she touches a hand to her chest, lowering her head as if listening to something.
"You—have an invitation from the gods...? I may not understand the situation, but of course I'll help you."
She nods, standing and walking outside, unconcerned with the freezing temperatures.
