Litten mews, happy to be described as good company.

Snorunt is still dazed and confused, and can't decide if he feels too hot or too cold... But he decides to wobble forward, bumping up against Vicious's leg. You have a Snorunt now! Though it has a -3 modifier until it is healed.

[Vicious scoops the Snorunt up with one arm, and then offers the other to Litten to jump back up if he wants to.]

So there're a lot of these Pokémon things around? Do you got some too?

[derailer]

Litten hops up into your grasp without hesitation.

"Dozens." In his Shadowy way, he's going to take credit for anything that Ingo proper has caught. "They are truly everywhere."

He gestures ahead of them, where there are three or four Bibarels.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious holds both his Pokemon close.]

Do ya think the people who're missin' got got? None of these ones look that strong...

[derailer]

"Do you think the settlement would be built in the territory of the more aggressive alphas? They are a bit further out. Abomasnow—Mamoswine—Sneasel."

He gestures from left to right, in different angles proceeding forward from where they're standing, to indicate where these alphas are located.

[stirtheblood]

How am I s'posed to know what to think about it?

[Vicious looks around, lingering when Ingo points in Sneasel's direction. That one sounds a little familiar...]

[derailer]

"Well, that's how it is. ...By the way, you're lingering on the one you have the least advantage against."

[stirtheblood]

I got advantages?

[derailer]

"Litten was super-effective against Snorunt because they are Fire and Ice-type, respectively. Mamoswine is also weak to Fire, and Abomasnow is doubly so."

[stirtheblood]

But Sneasel ain't? What type is it?

[derailer]

"Fighting and Poison-type."

[stirtheblood]

So it'd be an even fight, then?

[derailer]

"Against an alpha? No. You would have the disadvantage," he says, knowing he is just making it seem more exciting.

[stirtheblood]

Heeh... I dunno about that.

[Literally. He literally does not know. But he still makes it sound cocky.]

Whaddaya think, Litten?

[derailer]

Litten meows with confidence. He's willing to try if you are!

[stirtheblood]

Then let's go see what this alpha thing is like!

[derailer]

The Shadow gives up on mentioning that the others were also alphas, leading you off towards the right, and crunching up on top of the higher snow drifts to prevent encounters with other Pokemon. Every so often there is a large leaf poking out from the snow.

[stirtheblood]

[This one is clearly the best one!!

Vicious follows, surveying the landscape as he goes.]

Do ya think the people you're lookin' for went this way? Or are ya just indulgin' me?

[derailer]

"They did not come this way. If they did, they would have collected this Sootfoot Root." He gestures to the intermittent plants. "And the Apricorns," he continues, gesturing up at a tree.

[stirtheblood]

[So just indulging him, then. That's nice of him. He seems like a nice guy.]

Those some kinda food...?

[Vicious shifts Litten back to his shoulder so he has a free hand to bend down and tug at one of the leaves.]

[derailer]

If you pull hard enough, you will unearth a tuber, like so.

"Yes, though they have other uses in addition to that."

[stirtheblood]

Other uses...

[Vicious pockets the tuber.]

Well, good t' have some emergency rations in case I get hungry.

[derailer]

"Do you have no intentions of sharing with the clan, or are you playing at being aloof?"

Says the guy playing at being aloof. He holds out an arm to block Vicious from going further, his other arm pointing towards something down the slight slope. It's a Hisuian Sneasel, but a regular one.

"...It's in the alpha's territory, and it will be aggressive, but it is not the alpha."

[stirtheblood]

Why would I share with them...?

[Vicious is not playing, this is a sincere question. He has precisely zero instincts for cooperative society.

He peers at the Sneasel]

So we've gotta fight it as a warmup round, right?

[derailer]

"Or you could avoid it and save your strength for the fight you intended to have. You don't have anything to heal wounds with."
