[Vicious is not playing, this is a sincere question. He has precisely zero instincts for cooperative society.

He peers at the Sneasel]

So we've gotta fight it as a warmup round, right?

[derailer]

"Or you could avoid it and save your strength for the fight you intended to have. You don't have anything to heal wounds with."

Should I have somethin' to heal wounds with...?

Ya keep criticizin' my plans, but that's assumin' I have plans. I'm just goin' with stuff as it comes up. Not that I got a lotta other options.

[derailer]

"You'll know when I'm criticizing you. I'm letting you know what your options and potential plans are, because I know exactly how ignorant you are. But I will remain silent if you prefer."

[stirtheblood]

If you got somethin' to say, then say it. Just annoyin' that ya keep talkin' like I'm missin' somethin'.

[Even though Vicious is missing something. Or many things.

Vicious turns his head.]

...Whaddaya think, Litten? You'd be the one doin' the fightin'. Wanna have some fun here, or save our strength for the big one?

[derailer]

"You're missing everything," the Shadow says very pointedly.

Litten, after some contemplation, hops down with a battle cry. For whatever reason, he's ready to fight right now!

[stirtheblood]

Eh.

[Vicious is more interested in Litten's response than thinking about all the things he's missing.]

Heh, that's the spirit! I bet you can take 'im down easy!

[derailer]

Litten will dash forward past where the Shadow had suggested to stop, then, running up directly to the Sneasel! His bonus modifier will be smaller this time.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious also walks around Shadow Ingo to get closer to the fight.]

You ready for this, Sneasel??

[derailer]

Sneasel growls, challenging. He's ready, and already taking a swipe at Litten!

Litten will rely on his fire for this. Roll 2d6+1 in order to find the result of the fight!

[stirtheblood]

[I rolled a 13. Litten's enthusiasm is powerful! This was a good strategy after all, take that Shadow Ingo!!]

Ha!

[derailer]

Take that, Shadow Ingo! Take that, Sneasel! Sneasel succumbs to Litten's flames almost as easily if he were the non-Hisuian typing, staring in awe. But he is still conscious enough to be caught/recruited.

Litten was so impressive, he has gained a level!

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious whoops and cheers.]

Yeah! Nice one, Litten! I knew ya could do it! You showed him! Hmm...

[Then he circles around closer to the defeated Sneasel, crouching down.]

I like yer spirit, though. Ya wanna come along too? I bet things'll start gettin' real interestin'.

[derailer]

Sneasel hesitates, but finally nods. He's curious about what kind of Pokemon Litten is, too. Like Snorunt, Sneasel is currently weak from your battle, but he has joined your team!

Litten, proud of himself, bumps up against your leg to rub happily.

A little ways down the slope, you can see the alpha—a larger Sneasel, with eyes that glow red.

[stirtheblood]

[Hmm... Vicious cannot hold all these Pokémon in his arms... perhaps this is why people use balls for this?

He reaches down to pet Litten, at least, and gives Sneasel a quick pat too before straightening to look down the hill.]

Ooh, there's the big one!

[derailer]

Sneasel hides behind you, intimidated by the alpha. The Shadow gestures wordly out at it, having grown tired of telling you things like "you'll attract its attention if you yell like that." Clearly you don't care and you're going to fight it anyway! So just fight it already!

You did attract the attention of the alpha though.

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious will then pick up Sneasel with the arm that's not already holding Snorunt. Litten can walk for now. Litten is powerful.

He calls out to the alpha more deliberately as he starts down the slope:]

Hey! I hear you're pretty strong! Ya wanna fight? 'Cause Litten does!

[derailer]

Litten rushes up to back up the statement, letting out a growl.

The alpha roars, so forceful that it would knock a normal person off their feet. The Shadow remains still, due to being a Shadow. You probably manage to keep your footing too.

The -1 from the alpha balances out the +1 you got from Litten leveling up. So the roll is the same here: 2d6+1!

[stirtheblood]

[Vicious keeps his footing, but he does hold his new Pokémon a little tighter to make sure they don't fall.]

Get 'em, Litten!

[I rolled a 10. Litten is on a roll.]

Snorunt and your partner Sneasel definitely think you and Litten are very cool right now. Even the alpha Sneasel succumbs to the power of Flamethrower, reeling in awe with a cry. She could be recruited too.

[stirtheblood]

Aww, is that all ya got? After all that buildup 'bout how I was at a disadvantage?

[Vicious does not deserve this success. He's definitely going to ride it though, swaggering over to the alpha Sneasel.]

You can come with us too, if ya want. Maybe you'll get to show off all that power ya s'posedly have a bit more that way? I'd like to see that.

[derailer]

Rowr! She takes this as a challenge, and digs her claws into his coat, clambering up his back to be a Sneasel backpack. But this is her way of joining the party.

"Are you taking an interest in battling, then?" asks the Shadow.

[stirtheblood]

Heh.

[Vicious does not object to Sneasel backpack, or even particularly flinch at the claws.]

It's pretty interestin', yeah. I like seein' Litten havin' fun, too. And I bet these guys all have their own ways of fightin'.

[PROBABLY they don't all breathe fire.]

[derailer]

"Yes. It's a very engrossing hobby. Should I leave you to it?"

Hm? If you wanna? Thought ya wanted me to come with ya to find the people who're missin'?
