He glances over at Munna, nods, and gestures. Can they get a sneak attack off? ]

Munna nods back, and creeps forward. You can get a +1 for the surprise attack—so combined with Munna's natural advantages, that's a +3! Munna's luck has to turn around!

[hijinked]

[ YEAAAH Munna leaps forward and Lear flings an arm out wide in dramatic Pokemon trainer fashion. ]

Now is your chance! Psychic!

[ Finally... Munna's time has come. 14 for Munna, wipes away a tear. ]

[derailer]

With determination, Munna wipes Gurdurr out in a single move. And he levels up too!

[hijinked]

[ i am so proud of Munna and honestly so is Lear.

Anyway, he's gonna go ahead and try to catch it with a ball, because, well. He can always release it at the station later. That seems like the easiest way to handle this. ]

[derailer]

This is allowed. You can just hand the balls over to the proper authority when the time comes.

Munna bobs around in midair, in a happy song and dance. Then he starts heading across the bridge to the main part of town. Let's keep this streak going!

[hijinked]

[ hell yeah, onwards! Lear is perfectly comfortable following Munna by now, of course. ]

[derailer]

You pass by what is actually Gear Station, from the outside; a sign near you tells you this. Through the fog you can see some kind of movement from in front of the double doors, darting around towards the back of the building. From its movements and its shadow, you can tell it isn't human.

[hijinked]

[ oho...? Time to give chase! Around the back of the building! ]

[derailer]

You manage to corner it against one of the rear walls. It's a Klinklang! It speeds up the spinning of its gears in a threatening display.

[hijinked]

[ very threatening! Lear, in a hurry and also far-too-arrogant after the ease of the previous battle, immediately tosses out Donphan with a nod. ]

Let's get this taken care of quickly, shall we? Bulldoze!

[ This hilariously goes poorly with a 5. ]

[derailer]

It turns out that the last Pokemon was one raised for an easy scripted battle in the plot, and this one is used as an actual Battle Subway team member. Klinklang is raised with speed and attack in mind, and before Donphan can manage Bulldoze, Klinklang slams into him with a Giga Impact.

[hijinked]

[ brutal. Lear deserves this, even if poor Donphan does not. He's startled, of course, letting out a surprised and embarrassing squawk despite himself, before he withdraws Donphan in favor of-- ]

Krookodile--we mustn't underestimate them!

[ Much warier this time, Krookodile gets a 9. ]

[derailer]

Klinklang is still recovering from Giga Impact, so Krookodile has the advantage. But once it can move again, it's going to hit Krookodile with a Gear Grind!

[hijinked]

[ This Klnklang is brutal... maybe Lear should raise one too--wait, no, focus, Lear. ]

Earthquake, don't hesitate!

[derailer]

Thankfully, a couple Earthquakes are enough to take it down. Its movements become slow and non-threatening.

[hijinked]

[ time to catch it! POKEBALL GO ]

Success! You caught Klinklang!

You can see a Pokemon Center across the street from Gear Station—the bright roof is visible even through the fog. There are also more bridges up towards some even larger buildings.

[ nice.

Yeah he's gonna take a Pokemon Center pitstop because his poor ground types........ also he's a Changed Man about his team now! ]

[derailer]

Your Pokemon are all healed up now!

And when you exit the building, you hear some suspicious noises around the corner...

[hijinked]

[ oho... more pokemon to catch. After the embarrassment of the last fight, he is back to trying to be sneaky as he moves towards the corner to peer around it. ]

[derailer]

It's a big rock shuffling around... No, wait, that's obviously Crustle from the list.

[hijinked]

[ it's a small boulder the size of a large boulder...


anyway! Munna is out, and Munna gets the chance to try again! With a staggering 14. Peak Munna superiority. ]

Munna, quickly, before it can recover--psychic!

[derailer]

Munna gains yet another level! Munna redemption arc!!

Good thing too, since that Bug-type could have been dangerous if Munna hadn't gone so hard. But Crustle is so taken by surprise, he is subdued by the Psychic right away.

[ sweats a lot it's fine i'm good at pokemon



anyway. Lear'll toss out another Pokeball to catch that one as well, and move back towards the bridges to the larger buildings. ]
