Snover gets overconfident here. She feels like it's her time to shine! She's ready to use an Ice-type move! Maybe she'll even do a cool Blizzard! ... But she forgot to account for also being weak to flying. Emolga swiftly hits her with Acrobatics, which drains her health before she has a chance to actually hit with her low accuracy move.
Snorunt isn't weak to Flying! ... But it doesn't resist Electric! Before Snorunt can try freezing Emolga, he gets paralyzed instead, unable to resist an electric onslaught.
She won't be humiliated again! She's just as susceptible to Acrobatics as Snover, but she's sturdier, and she can hit Emolga with a Poison Jab that finally poisons her and wears her down. In the end, Sneasel is finally victorious, barely outlasting her opponent!
"Thanks," says Elesa in response to the compliment. "But you managed to put on a dazzling performance too. I can tell your bonds with your Pokemon are already deep."
"It doesn't matter if it lasts for one shining moment, or for years... What matters is how important it is to you. I think it's beautiful that you've thrown yourself headfirst into a new adventure. Here—a reward for good luck on your journey from here on out."
She pulls out a yellow plate engraved with the words: "The third being raged, raining down bolts of anger."
"You're the one riding it." She waves farewell. If you do leave the gym, the fog seems just a little lighter, and you can see the modern, not at all steam-powered train has pulled up to the platform.
The train is a standard modern subway car. Above the seats, where advertisements would normally be in a train, there are instead photographs of different scenes. They depict different scenes of people and Pokemon.
Since the fog is lighter, you don't have to try as hard to see what they are:
- A child Ingo carrying Emmet on his back, while Emmet has scraped knees. - A young adult Emmet entering an apartment while hiding a knife behind his back. - A stylish woman between Ingo and Emmet, arms around their shoulders. - Two elderly people who bear a familial resemblance to Ingo. - A child Ingo pinning another child on the ground, drawing back his fist to punch him. - A crew of uniformed Depot Agents saluting the camera, Ingo and Emmet at the front, and a large collection of Pokemon surrounding them.
[Vicious observes the pictures, but tries not to linger on them too long this time. Getting more memories and feelings of someone else's won't help him to sort out his own.]

[It was her time to shine!! ;; Vicious scowls and pulls her back out of the fray.]
Snorunt! Give it a shot!
[I can roll 2d6+2 again on my own. Unfortunately Snorunt also only gets a 6.]

[Vicious cradles the paralyzed Snorunt.]
You're pretty tough. ...Sneasel! He's all yours!
[Sneasel is not a better type matchup at all. But she is a super cool alpha. She gets a 9.]

You have obtained a Zap Plate!

"Apparently people are collecting them. I hear there's some sort of divine power involved. But I don't know the details."
no subject
Well, the ticket thing had somethin' for sale for three of 'em, so I guess I just need one more.

[Vicious asks, but he starts gathering up his Pokemon to go anyway. He clearly does not understand trains.]
Eh, guess I do gotta go somewhere else to find more interestin' stuff.

[Vicious looks around curiously at the fog. He feels like... it's probably some kind of metaphor??]
...Well, whatever. C'mon, everyone. Guess we're goin' to the next stop.
[Boarding the train!]
