Reverie - Ingo Palace Signups
The IC Situation
Ingo is ICly organizing people to enter his heart and uncover his missing memories! If you have CR with Ingo or if your character would have reason to help him with this, you are invited to a Pokemon palace adventure! He will be ICly giving people the following points of information, which I may not get to actually threading out, but which you can assume your character was told:
1. The goal is to return all missing memories.
2. Memories are missing from "Unova."
3. Beware potential violent or sexual content.
4. Wild Pokemon are very dangerous!
5. If you leave things worse than you found them, you will face Emmet's wrath.
Sessions
For now I am going to run 3 different sessions. These are times that I will block off for myself to be around to run the palace. I will back-thread too, and showing up late is OK.
1. Monday, January 16th from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM PST (8:30 PM - 12:30 AM EST)
2. Tuesday, January 17th from 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM PST (8:30 PM - 12:30 AM EST)
3. Saturday, January 21st from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM PST (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM EST)
...but I have weird work hours so I might potentially be able to accommodate you if these times do not work for you. LMK!
Content Advisory
Some depictions of serious injury, and some suggestive/sexual references, though nothing explicit for either. Your character WILL be directly attacked by Pokemon during certain segments, but injury is not inevitable. Amnesia and related dissociation-type issues are an opt-in status effect described below; characters who do not opt-in will not see more than some references to Ingo having these issues.
Sign-Up Form
Sign up for one of these sessions using the following form!
Character: The character you would like to play in the palace.
Pokemon Partner: You can pick any non-legendary Pokemon to be your POKEMON PARTNER during this game! This Pokemon will be given to your character shortly after they enter. You will use it to have Pokemon battles throughout the palace, and then say goodbye at the end. If your character already has Pokemon, they still get a NEW, extra Pokemon for the duration of the palace. If you do not know Pokemon very well, I can help you pick one that might be fun for you! Don't worry about picking a "good" Pokemon; I have heavily simplified Pokemon battle rules, and this is about your symbolic bonds anyway. I will post the battle rules under the different time slots if that helps you decide.
Amnesia Option: This palace contains a SPECIAL ALTERNATE ROUTE where your character will be cursed with total amnesia as soon as they enter the game, and get a special alternate starting point. All characters will still be able to access all parts of the palace, including the start point of the other group. This effect will last right up until the end (or a little after, if you would like to play around with the effect). Since your character will not remember Ingo or why they came to the palace, it will be a much more nontraditional heart/palace experience. I do not expect very many people to take this option! But if you would like to opt into it, just say "Yes" to this prompt.

pokemon battle rules
Rules are based on the PBTA system. When you enter a Pokemon Battle, roll 2d6. The resulting total lets you know how well you did in the battle.
6 or below: Your Pokemon ends up in trouble! They are in danger of fainting. But if you can think of something to help them, they might be able to tough it out.
7 – 9: There is a back and forth. You win, but the opposing Pokemon also does damage or inflicts a status effect to yours that will persist until healed.
10 – 12: You easily defeat the opposing Pokemon. If it is wild, you can catch it.
13 or above: Your Pokemon wins, and also levels up! If the opponent is wild, you can catch it.
We can thread out a brief back and forth battle regardless of what your result is, for flavor, but it's easiest to just make it one roll for the entire battle.
All NPC Pokemon trainers (with rare and notable exception) will have ONLY ONE Pokemon. If you travel together with other players, you can tag in to help them win a battle that they have gotten a bad roll on! If you catch a wild Pokemon, you can add it to your party, so you can switch Pokemon during battle! Additionally, if you are coming in with Pokemon from outside of this palace, you can cheat and switch those in at any time.
There are many modifiers that you can add to the 2d6 battle roll:
+1 if you use a super-effective move (any move your Pokemon partner can learn is fair game)
+2 if you use a doubly super-effective move
+1 if your move has STAB (using a move of a type that matches your Pokemon's type)
+1 for every Level your Pokemon has gained
-1 if your move is not very effective
-2 if your move is doubly not very effective
-1 for unhealed damage or status effects
Your character can perform any number of actions to give more modifiers to their Pokemon as long as you give some justification to it, including using stat-raising moves, high-crit moves, etc. Pokemon battles are intended to be won. Even if you lose a Pokemon battle, you can always make it back to where you lost the battle if you like.
